Former NFL Running Back Ray Rice Speaks at Liberty University Convocation Next Month

Liberty University has announced an exciting new slate of convocation speakers for early December. One of the names comes from the world of sports, former NFL running back Ray Rice

Rice is going to make an appearance with his wife, Janay Palmer, to talk about the healing power of faith. They will address how they have repaired their relationship and speak candidly about domestic violence.

The event, which was announced on Monday by the Liberty Office of Spiritual Development, takes place on December 6th. Liberty holds three convocations per week and attendance is mandatory for residential students.

Rice was a star at Rutgers University and a two-time first-team All-Big East pick. The Baltimore Ravens went on to be selected in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft.

Rice played with the Ravens for six seasons and became the second-leading rusher in franchise history. He was selected to three Pro Bowls and was a two-time second-team All-Pro.

In 2011, Rice led the NFL in yards from scrimmage and the AFC in rushing touchdowns. He helped Baltimore win Super Bowl XLVII after the 2012 season.
