Former NBA Stars Juwan Howard and Jalen Rose Help Host Michigan Fab Five Basketball Camp

Since they stepped foot on the campus at the University of Michigan in the early 1990's, the star-studded recruiting class dubbed the "Fab Five" captivated basketball fans everywhere.  Four of those legendary Wolverines, including former NBA stars Juwan Howard and Jalen Rose, are teaming up yet again to host a basketball camp.

The Michigan Fab Five Basketball Camp also features Jimmy King and Ray Jackson.  It will be held on August 1-4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Ann Arbor Pioneer High School.

Boys and girls from the ages of 6 to 18 can attend the camp.  Registration is $299.

Howard played three seasons at Michigan and was named an Associated Press third team All-American following his junior season.  The Washington Bullets selected him fifth overall in the 1994 NBA Draft and he embarked on a 19-year pro career.

In 1996, Howard was named an All-Star and made the All-NBA third team after averaging a career-high 22.1 points per game.  He currently serves as an assistant coach for the Miami Heat.

Rose had success right off the bat for the Wolverines, leading the team in scoring as a freshman with 19 points per game. Along with Howard and the rest of the Fab Five, he helped lead the program to back-to-back NCAA championship games.

Rose would go on to find success in the NBA, including making three straight Eastern Conference Finals with the Indiana Pacers.  He currently works in broadcasting with ESPN and co-hosts a weeknight show on ESPN Radio.
