Former NBA Player Marquis Daniels Speaks at Georgia High School

This past Thursday, former NBA player Marquis Daniels was at Southwest High School to speak. He spoke at their Commitment to Graduate Ceremony. 

At the event, students from the Class of 2020 pledged that they would finish their high school education. Each freshman had to walk across the stage and have their name called out. 

Daniels spoke about setting goals and making wise choices. He shared personal stories from escaping a tough background to graduate college and find success in basketball. 

At Auburn University, Daniels was an All-SEC second team performer and three-time team MVP. He went undrafted, but landed on the NBA's All-Rookie second team with the Dallas Mavericks in 2004. 

Daniels spent three seasons each with the Mavs, Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtics. He finished his career with one final year with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2013.
