After a standout NBA career, Grant Hill has been able to successfully transition to becoming the host of NBA TV's "Inside the NBA" and a co-owner of the Atlanta Hawks. He has also continued to be a successful corporate pitchman and this week, he signed a lifetime endorsement contract with the sportswear company, Fila.
Hill had previously been a brand ambassador at the onset of his professional career two decades ago. He spoke about the excitement he has returning to a brand that served him so well when he was starting out with the Detroit Pistons.
“Fila was there for my first professional steps on the court,” said Hill. “We have now come full circle and I am thrilled to be a part of the family once again. I’m grateful for the brand’s continued loyalty and support as we begin this new chapter together.”
To officially launch the partnership, Hill will be at Fila's special activation at ComplexCon this month. The brand will be unveiling an entire line of products around the former basketball superstar.
There will be two special-edition sneakers that pay homage to Hill's recent induction in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The collection will include tracksuits, hoodies, t-shirts and long-sleeved shirts as well.
This rollout from Fila is possible due to the immense popularity Hill enjoyed during his playing career and the high-regard basketball fans still have for him today. He was a seven-time All-Star and five-time All-NBA during an 18-year tenure in the league.
Hill was a smash-success immediately upon entering the NBA in 1994, averaging 19.9 points per game and sharing NBA Rookie of the Year honors with Jason Kidd. The Pistons made him the third overall pick in that year's NBA Draft out of Duke University.
Hill was also known as one of the hardest-working players and classiest individuals in the league and won the NBA Sportsmanship Award three times. He continues to give back to the world around him today through his work with the Special Olympics and other children's charities.
