Former Missouri Football Coach Gary Pinkel Speaks at the University of Toledo

Last week, former college football coach Gary Pinkel spoke at the KeyBank Global Leaders Summit. The event was presented by the University of Toledo College of Business and Innovation.

Activities took place at Savage Arena on Thursday, For Pinkel, it was a return to a place where he spent a decade coaching and he was able to talk about his tenure with the Rockets.

Pinkel also talked about his views on leadership and how he misses coaching. Prior to his presentation, there was a panel that addressed various elements of leadership.

From 1991-2000, Pinkel led Toledo to a 73-37-3 record. In 1995, the Rockets went 11-0-1, won the Mid-American Conference and finished in the top 25 after a win at the Las Vegas Bowl.

Pinkel then went on to coach Missouri, where the Tigers posted five double-digit win seasons and top 25 finishes. The program won three Big 12 North Division titles and three Southeastern Conference East Division championships.

While at Toledo, Pinkel was a two-time MAC Coach of the Year and he won SEC Coach of the Year in 2014. He is the all-time wins leader at both of his head coaching stops.
