Former Major League Pitcher Bill Lee Speaks at Red Sox Nation Meeting

Former Boston Red Sox fan favorite Bill Lee made an appearance yesterday among some of his faithful followers. He was in The Villages, Florida to speak at a Red Sox Nation meeting.

The event took place at 5:45 p.m. at The Savannah Center. In addition to speaking, Lee showed a special video from his collection and also held a meet and greet.

Those who have a Red Sox Nation membership card for 2017 were admitted for free. Guests could also attend, but had to register in advance.

Lee spent the first decade of his career in Boston and became well-known for his ecentricities. He also become a dominant force on the mound after being primarily used in relief during the first four years of his career.

In 1973, Lee broke out, winning 17 games and being named to the American League All-Star team. He backed up his performance with back-to-back 17-win seasons in 1974 and 1975.

Lee finished his major league career with the Montreal Expos and also pitched for several semi-pro teams. He is a member of the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame.
