Former College Football Coach Mack Brown Keynotes Appalachian State Legends Gala Next Month

Appalachian State is hosting their inaugural Legends Gala on June 23rd. They are bringing back one of their former coaches, Mack Brown, to serve as keynote speaker.

The event will be held at Linville Golf Club's Camp Yonahnoka. In addition to Brown, there will be several other App State greats in attendance.

Individual tickets are $500 and table sponsorships are $4,000. The sponsorship includes six seats and a legend as your table host.

Brown's first head coaching opportunity came at Appalachian State in 1983. He went on to spend three seasons as the head coach at Tulane before finding his first major success at North Carolina.

Brown spent a decade with the Tar Heels, guiding them to six bowl games, five top 25 finishes, and three ten-win seasons. He took over at Texas in 1998 and proceeded to record 12 straight seasons of at least nine victories.

Brown won Big 12 titles in 2005 and 2009 while being named the conference's Coach of the Year each season. The Longhorns won the 2005 national championship after defeating USC in arguably the greatest game of the BCS era.
