Former College Football Coach Jack Harbaugh Speaks at Michigan Orange Bowl Pep Rally

The festivities are already underway for Friday's Orange Bowl. University of Michigan fans are particularly fired up and their alumni association will host a pep rally tomorrow in Ft. Lauderdale. 

The event takes place at 4 p.m. at Ft. Lauderdale Beach Park. One of the speakers that will be present is the father of Wolverines head coach Jim Harbaugh and a college coaching great in his own right, Jack Harbaugh

The 45-minute rally will be held at the south end of the beach. In addition to Harbaugh, UM athletic director Warde Manuel and some former standout players will speak. 

Harbaugh himself is a former Michigan assistant, coaching defensive backs in Ann Arbor from 1973-79. He is best known as the former head coach at Western Kentucky. 

From 1989-2002, Harbaugh led the Hilltoppers to the Division I-AA playoffs four times and the national championship in his final season. He was also the head coach at Western Michigan for five years. 

Harbaugh's career in coaching began in 1964 at Eaton High School. He had other tenures as an assistant in college at Morehead State, Bowling Green, Iowa, Stanford, Pittsburgh and San Diego.
