Former Baseball Star Reggie Sanders Speaks at Loris Chamber of Commerce Awards Banquet

In January, the Loris Chamber of Commerce held their Awards Banquet. Former major leaguer Reggie Sanders was on hand to speak at the Center for Health & Fitness. 

Sanders has familiarity with the area having graduated from Spartanburg Methodist College. There were 140 people on-hand to hear his presentation titled, "Leaving a Legacy." 

The Reggie Sanders Foundation helps him accomplish the mission of his message. The charity allows support for a variety of autism causes. 

Sanders had a standout 17-year career and is a member of baseball 300 home run, 300 stolen base club. He spent his first eight seasons with the Cincinnati Reds and was an All-Star in 1995. 

That year, Sanders also finished sixth in National League Most Valuable Player voting. After leaving the Reds in 1998, he would go on to play for six other franchises. 

In 2001, Sanders hit a career-high 33 home runs and helped the Arizona Diamondbacks win the World Series. His career wrapped up in 2007 with the Kansas City Royals.
