Lindsey Vonn is off and running on a nine city book tour.  She is promoting her new book, "Strong is the New Beautiful: Embrace Your Natural Beauty, Eat Clean and Harness Your Power."

Vonn's first stop is at 6 p.m. this evening at the Barnes & Noble in New York City's Triibeca district.  She will make daily stops through Saturday in Ridgewood, New Jersey, Madison, Connecticut, Chicago, Illinois and Minneapolis, Minnesota. 

Next week, Vonn's tour shifts out west.  She makes stops in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Salt Lake City before wrapping things up in Denver next Thursday.  

Vonn is one of the most successful skiers in American history.  She holds a record 20 World Cup crystal globe titles and has won 76 individual World Cup races. 

Only one other woman has won the four overall World Cup championships that Vonn has.  She has triumphed a record eight times in the World Cup season downhill title.  

In 2010, Vonn won two Olympic medals, including gold in the downhill.  She also competed at the 2002 and 2006 Games.
