ESPN Soccer Analyst Taylor Twellman Speaks on NYU Concussion in the Media Panel

While the concussion issue has garnered the most publicity in regards to the NFL, it is also a big issue in the soccer world.  ESPN soccer analyst Taylor Twellman understands the dangers of head injuries and leant his expertise last Thursday to a discussion on the matter.

Twellman was part of a Concussions in the Media panel at New York University.  The panel was held at the Farkas Auditorium on the first floor of the NYU Langone Medical Center.

The event was free and open to the public.  NYUSPS Sports and Society Program Director Ted Shaker moderated the discussion.

Twellman is deeply invested in the concussion issue through his ThinkTaylor Foundation.  The charity raises awareness and educates people about traumatic brain injuries.  

Twellman is ESPN's lead analyst for MLS and U.S. Men's National Team matches.  He has been with the network since 2011 and also serves as a studio analyst during big international soccer events. 

As a player, Twellman helped make the MLS what it is today.  He played for the New England Revolution from 2002-2009, making five All-Star teams and becoming the franchises' all-time leading scorer.

In 20015, Twellman won the MLS Golden Boot and was named league MVP.  Over the length of his career, he appeared in 30 matches for Team USA as well.
