Dolphins Receiver DeVante Parker Paces NFL Rookies in Endorsements

New Miami Dolphins wide receiver DeVante Parker might not be the first name that comes to mind when you think about athlete endorsers.  However, the 14th overall pick in May’s NFL Draft is among the top rookies when it comes to earnings off the field.

The Louisville Courier-Journal chronicled his path to corporate dollars last week.  Parker has a four-year contract with Adidas and additional agreements with Bose, Proctor & Gamble, and several trading card companies.

Dolphins training camp is currently underway while Parker still rehabs from a June surgery to fix an injured foot.  If he returns quickly and has a big season, more endorsement deals could be on the way.

Before the bright lights of the NFL came calling, Parker was a high school and college star in Louisville, Kentucky.  At Ballard High School, he was a two-time All-State pick and finished with 3,274 receiving yards, which ranks fifth in state history.

At Louisville, Parker was a consistent performer starting in his sophomore season and is tied for the school record with 33 career receiving touchdowns.  Even though he missed the first seven games of his senior year, he still went for 855 yards and five touchdowns.
