Dairy Strong Names Former MLB Commissioner Bud Selig Opening Keynote Speaker for 2018 Conference

Former Major League Baseball commissioner Bud Selig is one of Wisconsin's most well-known residents. Dairy Strong is taking advantage of his high profile statewide. 

Selig will be the opening keynote speaker for the fourth annual Dairy Strong Conference next year. His speech takes place on January 17th in Madison at the Monona Terrace Community & Convention Center. 

There were over 700 people that came from every part of the U.S. at this year's conference. The event was designed to bring together farmers and dairy professionals to address important industry issues of the day. 

Selig is currently Commissioner Emeritus of Baseball. From 1992-2015, he was served as Commissioner of Baseball and piloted the sport through unprecedented changes. 

Selig guided the game through the 1994 strike and implemented changes like the wild card and interleague play. He introduced revenue sharing and oversaw record revenue increases. 

Selig entrance to baseball came as an owner and team president for the Milwaukee Brewers. This summer, he will be inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
