Cleveland Indians Manager Terry Francona Speaks at Utah Baseball Banquet

On February 7th, Cleveland Indians manager Terry Francona made his way to Salt Lake City, Utah for a special speaking engagement. He was speaking at a banquet held for Utah baseball.

The event was in downtown Salt Lake at the Sheraton Hotel. Prior to Francona's presentation, there was a reception, dinner and an auction.

Francona also made appearances as the guest speaker in 2005 and 2008. He played college baseball with the Utes head coach Bill Kinneberg at the University of Utah.

Francona has been Indians manager for four seasons. Last year he was named American League Manager of the Year and led Cleveland to the World Series.

Francona's crowning achievement came in 2004 when he helped the Boston Red Sox snap an 86-year title drought. He won another title with the Red Sox in 2013.

In 1997, Francona got his first managerial opportunity with the Philadelphia Phillies. He was a major league coach for the Detroit Tigers and a minor league manager in the Chicago White Sox organization after a ten-year playing career.
