Chicago Cubs President of Baseball Operations Theo Epstein Keynotes Schwab Impact Conference

As someone who has turned around two historic baseball franchises, business leaders often seek out the advice of Chicago Cubs President of Baseball Operations Theo Epstein. He closed the Schwab Impact conference this past week.

Esptein spoke to a crowd full of independent financial advisors in Chicago, Illinois. His presentation was titled "What Losing Teaches about Winning."

In addition to Epstein's talk, there were several workshops and panel discussions attendees could take advantage of. Other prominent speakers highlighted the proceedings, including former British prime minister David Cameron.

Epstein made waves in the sports world when serving as general manager of the Boston Red Sox. Under his watch, the Red Sox broke a long drought by winning the World Series in 2004 for the first time since 1918.

The Red Sox also won a title in 2007 before Epstein left for the new position with the Cubs in 2011. After remaking the roster in Chicago, the team won their first World Series in 108 years in 2016.

Epstein was named Baseball America Major League Executive of the Year in 2008. He won the 2006 Esurance MLB Award for Best Executive and was named one of the world's 100 most influential people by Time in 2017.
