Chicago Cubs First Baseman Anthony Rizzo Named Latest BodyArmor Brand Ambassador

With the Chicago Cubs soaring in popularity, some of the leading men who have carried them to relevancy are also getting greater exposure.  Charismatic Cubs All-Star Anthony Rizzo is one of the main benefactors of this phenomenon.

Rizzo is the latest on an evergrowing list of BodyArmor endorsers.  The sports drink company announced the deal along with a larger partnership with Major League Baseball

In Chicago, Rizzo will be a point person, with ads appearing in area stores.  He will also make appearances and be used in national campaigns, much like the lengthy list of athlete endorsers that includes baseball stars Mike Trout and Buster Posey.

Rizzo is one of the main reasons the Cubs have baseball's best record at 20-6.  He currently leads all players with 27 RBI and also has eight home runs.

The last two seasons, Rizzo has been named a National League All-Star.  Last year, he hit .278 with 31 homers and 101 RBI on the way to finishing fourth in NL MVP voting.

Rizzo began his big league career with the San Diego Padres in 2011, but has spent the last five seasons with Chicago.  He was originally selected in the sixth round of the 2007 MLB Draft by the Boston Red Sox.
