Charlotte Hornets All-Star Kemba Walker Speaks at Champions Circle Basketball Camp

The Champions Circle basketball camp impacts the lives of aspiring players in Caroline County, Virginia. The proceedings got an extra boost when Charlotte Hornets All-Star Kemba Walker came in to speak to the group on Thursday. 

The event is held at Caroline High School. Walker talked about his confidence and the work ethic he has leaned on to get to the highest level of his sport. 

Walker also took the time to talk about some of the latest NBA headlines. He shared his excitement with the Hornets recent acquisition of former All-Star center Dwight Howard

Walker made his first All-Star team in 2017 and went on to average a career-high 23.2 points per game. The Hornets originally selected him with the ninth overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. 

Walker has been a consistent performer in Charlotte and helped the franchise reach the playoffs in 2014 and 2016. He originally established his place in the basketball world as a standout at the University of Connecticut. 

Walker led the Huskies on a remarkable run that ended with the team winning the 2011 NCAA Championship. He was a consensus first-team All-American and named the Final Four Most Outstanding Player.
