Canadian Women’s Soccer Coach John Herdman Keynotes October’s Bluewater Health Foundation Gala

When he returns from Rio, Bluewater Health Foundation is hoping that the keynote speaker for their upcoming fundraising gala can bring a fresh Olympic medal with him.  The head coach of Canada's women's national soccer team, John Herdman, is speaking at their event on October 13th.

The fourth annual gala will be held at the Holiday Inn in Sarnia, Ontario.  It is being titled, "Bend it for Bluewater Health - An Evening with John Herdman".

Proceeds from the $250 event tickets will go towards purchasing a new CT scanner.  Herdman will talk about overcoming adversity and the role of leaders.

Herdman is currently getting Team Canada set for the Olympic bronze medal game on Friday against Brazil.  He took over the national team in 2011 and won the bronze at the 2012 Games.

Immediately after assuming the position in 2011, Herdman led Canada to a gold medal win at the Pan American Games.  It was the first soccer gold in the country's history at the Pan Am Games.

Herdman had previously been the head coach of New Zealand's women's squad from 2006-2011. He is a two-time nominee for FIFA Coach of the Year.
