Bulls Rookie Doug McDermott Hosts his First Basketball Camp

After a year in the NBA, Chicago Bulls forward Doug McDermott is going back to his college hometown to host a new basketball camp.  The Doug McDermott Basketball Camp takes place August 22-23 at the Omaha Sports Academy.

Campers from grades 1-12 can pay $175 to get instruction from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. each day on the fundamentals from McDermott.  There will also be a camp t-shirt handed out along with autograph and photo opportunities.

Registration can be found at www.ysportzcamps.com

McDermott saw action in 36 games for the Bulls after being the 11th overall pick of the 2014 NBA Draft.  In his very first game, he scored 12 points and added five rebounds in a win over the New York Knicks.

It was at Creighton though that McDermott really made an impact.  He was the National college player of the year in 2014 and a three-time Consensus first-team All-American.

McDermott’s 3,150 career points rank fifth on the all-time NCAA scoring list.  He is just one of three players to record over 3,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in college.
