Boston Red Sox All-Star Mookie Betts Becomes First Axe Bat Endorser

Boston Red Sox outfielder Mookie Betts has been one of baseball's best success stories this season.  His bat provider, Axe Bat, can take at least some of the credit for his star taking off.

Last week, they entered into a multiyear endorsement partnership with Betts.  He is the first professional baseball player signed by Axe Bat.

Betts will be used in advertisements for the brand and is already prominently featured on their new website.  He will also give his input on development and product design.

Last night, Betts started in right field at his first All-Star Game and collected a hit in the second inning.  As he enters baseball's second half, he is currently hitting .304 with 18 home runs and 59 RBI.

Early this season, Betts made a little bit of history by becoming the first leadoff hitter to slug five homers over a two-game period.  It was just an extension of the play that he exhibited as a first-time starter in 2015.

Betts finished last year with a .291 average, 18 home runs, 77 RBI and 21 stolen bases.  There is no denying that he has lived up to the expectations Boston had for him when they selected him out of high school in the fifth round of the 2011 MLB Draft.
