Best Christian Speaker Tim Tebow Packs Vero Beach Prayer Breakfast

Over 2,000 people gathered at Riverside Park in mid-February for the 19th annual Vero Beach Prayer Breakfast. The event included a morning of prayer, inspiring music, and reflection. Well-known multi-sport athlete, evangelist and best Christian speaker Tim Tebow was the keynote guest.

Tebow was honored to speak and help spread faith, hope, and love to those who need motivation.

The event was sold out for weeks, with 400 volunteers working to make the event successful. John Bona, the event organizer, started the event in 2005 after attending the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C. The Prayer Breakfast is a family ministry not affiliated with any church but is a tax-exempt nonprofit charitable organization and they try to book a best Christian speaker annually. The money made from the event goes towards paying the bills.

Tebow, 35, has won two national championships, the Heisman Trophy, was selected in the first round of the NFL Draft and played professional baseball in the past. He signed a contract to play professional baseball with the New York Mets organization after playing professional football for the Denver Broncos and New York Jets.

But Tebow is most passionate about helping children in over 70 countries suffering from life-threatening illnesses through his work with the Tim Tebow Foundation. According to their website, he was born to missionaries in the Philippines and is committed to offering children operations that can change their lives.

Tebow shared the story of a young girl in remote Southeast Asia who struggled with multiple handicaps and was eventually rescued by missionaries. The girl was adopted by a couple who provided the necessary care for her. Tebow encouraged the audience to share the message of Jesus Christ with others in Vero Beach and beyond.

The former lead singer of the Gaither Vocal Band, Guy Penrod, provided the morning's inspirational music. He sang "You Reign" and "Let the Celebration Begin." The attendees sang along with him as he walked through the audience. Other speakers at the event included Senior Pastor Rob Pacienza from the Coral Ridge Church, and the Opening Prayer was by Tim Dean, a local certified public accountant. Next, the Navy Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps presented the colors with Bona leading the audience in reciting The Lord's Prayer.

One Vero Beach resident, Crystal Cade, said she has attended the breakfast four times and finds it to be an uplifting experience. She loves when Christians unite and support the Prayer Breakfast in their town. She was excited to hear Tim Tebow's story from him and was inspired by his courage in standing up and sharing his beliefs with the world.
