Ben Smith Wins 2015 Reebok CrossFit Games in Seventh Try

In his seventh try earning the title of “Fittest Man in the World”, Ben Smith triumphed at this weekend’s CrossFit Games.  Smith came in first place at the StubHub Center in Carson, California on Sunday with a grand total of 915 points.

He finished ahead of second-place Matthew Fraser by 40 points.  Smith took home $275,000 for his win.

He can expect even more earning potential from endorsements and speaking opportunities.  There was no shortage of exposure for the Reebok CrossFit Games, as they aired for over 50 hours throughout the weekend on ESPN.

Leading into the four-day event, Smith has finished third at the CrossFit Games twice, in 2011 and 2013.  That makes him one of just four men that have been on the podium multiple times.

Smith has been an athlete all his life, playing baseball growing up and eventually at Great Bridge High School in Virginia.  As a senior at GBHS, he was introduced to CrossFit and the rest was history.

He still is based in the Hampton Roads area and operates CrossFitKrypton.
