Basketball Hall of Famer Shaquille O’Neal Keynotes Education and Leadership Luncheon Next Month

While Shaquille O'Neal is certainly excited about being inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame next month, he will have another important task to complete that weekend.  He has been named keynote speaker at the Education and Leadership Luncheon.

The luncheon is being held at Springfield College on September 9th.  It is an annual part of the festivities and serves as a great way to give back to the community that houses the Hall.

High School students are honored for their achievements in the classroom.  Local businesses are also recognized and everyone gets the oppportunity to hear a great speech from someone of O'Neal's stature.

O'Neal certainly has had a larger than life persona since he became known to basketball fans worldwide at the onset of his 19-year career.  He was the first overall pick of the 1992 NBA Draft and quickly raised the profile of a young Orlando Magic franchise, ultimately leading them to the NBA Finals in 1995.

O'Neal would win four NBA championships in his career, three with the Los Angeles Lakers and one with the Miami Heat.  He was a 15-time All-Star and eight-time first-team All-NBA pick.

There is no denying O'Neal's status still as one of basketball's best ambassadors.  He also entertains audiences weekly thoughout the NBA season as an analyst on the award-winning TNT show, "Inside the NBA".
