Arizona Cardinals Carson Palmer Keynotes State's Sports Awards in June

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer is coming off of the best season of his career.  The veteran seems to have finally found a home in Phoenix and he will keynote a very special event in town in June.

Palmer will speak at the first Arizona Sports Awards celebration.  The event will be held on June 7th at downtown Phoenix's Orpheum Theater.

Put together by The Arizona Republic, the celebration will honor high school athletes throughout the state.  General admission tickets cost $53.

Last season, Palmer threw for 4,671 yards and 35 touchdowns against only 11 interceptions.  He made his third Pro Bowl, was named a second-team All-Pro, and the Cardinals reached the NFC Championship.

In addition, Palmer set franchise single-season records for passing yards and touchdowns.  The success was a long time coming for a quarterback who has always been viewed as a great talent.

Palmer spent the first seven seasons of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals after being the top overall pick in the 2003 NFL Draft.  He played college football at the University of Southern California, where he won the 2002 Heisman Trophy and was a Consensus All-American in his final season.
