12-Time Olympic Medalist Dara Torres Keynotes YMCA Breakfast

Wednesday morning was special for supporters of the YMCA of South Palm Beach County. They hosted their 17th annual Inspiration Breakfast with keynote speaker and 12-time Olympic medalist Dara Torres

Torres shared a message that was filled with hope and inspiration. She talked about overcoming obstacles in her swimming career and her commitment to health and fitness.

The presentation perfectly aligned with the YMCA's core principles of youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Proceeds raised from the event benefit the Y's Drowning Prevention Initiatives.

Torres competed in and won medals at five different Olympic Games. She is tied with Jenny Thompson and Natalie Coughlin for the most Olympic swimming medals won by a woman.

Torres is known for being an athlete that defies the conventional boundaries of age. In 2000, she won five Olympic medals and was the oldest player on the U.S. swim team.

Even at age 41, Torres made another comeback and won three silver medals at the 2008 Games. She currently serves as a correspondent for the award-winning CBS Sports show, "We Need to Talk."
