Seattle Seahawks Quarterback Russell Wilson Named Commencement Speaker at Wisconsin

There are not many athletes who are more positive representatives in sports than Super Bowl champion quarterback Russell Wilson.  Wilson will get to share some notes for success in May as the commencement speaker at the University of Wisconsin.

The ceremony will be held on May 14th at Camp Randall Stadium.  It will be a combined graduation with law, master's, and bachelor's degree students getting their diplomas.

Senior class officers recommended Wilson as a commencement speaker.  Famous news broadcaster Katie Couric spoke to last year's graduates.

Wilson of course starred for the Badgers in his final collegiate season, racking up an NCAA record 191.7 passer rating while leading the team to the Big Ten title and Rose Bowl berth.  He was then selected in the third round of the NFL Draft by the Seattle Seahawks and the rest is history.

In his first season, Wilson tied Peyton Manning's rookie passing touchdown record with 26 and was named Pepsi NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.  He is a three-time Pro Bowler and had his first 4,000 yard season while pacing the league in passer rating in 2015.

Wilson has led the Seahawks to the playofffs each season of his career.  The team went all the way to the Super Bowl in 2013 and 2014.
