Former Seattle Seahawks Player Michael Robinson Keynotes Boys 2 Men Father/Son Conference

Former NFL fullback Michael Robinson is a proud native of Richmond, Virginia. On Saturday, he was the keynote speaker in town for The Boys 2 Men Father/Son Conference.

The event was held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Cedar Street Memorial Baptist Church. Boys ages nine and older were welcome to attend along with their fathers or father figures.

The conference was set up to address challenges facing African-American youth and provide tools to navigate those challenges. Registration was $30 for one adult with a child and $10 for each additional child.

Robinson had a standout college football player as a quarterback and wide receiver at Penn State. In 2005, he led the Nittany Lions to a Big Ten Conference title and was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year.

The San Francisco 49ers selected him in the fourth round of the 2006 NFL Draft and converted him to fullback. He spent the first four seasons of his career with the Niners before joining the Seattle Seahawks in 2010.

Robinson was named to the Pro Bowl in 2011. In his final career game, he helped the Seahawks defeat the Denver Broncos 43-8 in Super Bowl XLVII.
