University of Arizona head coach Sean Miller is a Pittsburgh-area native who returns home tonight for an important speaking engagement. He is serving as the keynote speaker at the Coaches vs. Cancer fundraiser. 

The event is being held at Heinz Field. The men's and women's basketball programs at Pittsburgh, Robert Morris and Duquesne organized the fundraiser with proceeds going towards cancer research. 

Miller is particularly passionate about helping out with cancer-related causes due to working at N.C. State, where the iconic Jim Valvano  coached. He jumped at the opportunity to return to his hometown when the American Cancer Society came calling. 

Miller has been the head coach at Arizona for eight years. He has led the Wildcats to the Elite Eight three times and they have advanced at least to the Sweet Sixteen on five occasions. 

Miller's teams have won the Pac-12 regular season championship four times. He was named the Pac-12 Coach of the Year in 2011, 2014 and 2017. 

Miller began his head coaching career at Xavier and led the Musketeers to four NCAA Tournament appearances in five years. They won three straight Atlantic 10 regular season titles from 2007-09.
