About Yancey Thigpen
Yancey Thigpen was a two-time Pro Bowl and All-Pro receiver for the San Diego Chargers, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Tennessee Titans. Both of those seasons he topped over 1,000 yards receiving. Thigpen’s first Pro Bowl/All-Pro campaign came in 1995, when he caught 85 passes for 1,307 yards and helped the Steelers get to Super Bowl XXX. He caught a touchdown in the 27-17 Super Bowl loss to the Dallas Cowboys. Thigpen would also make Super Bowl XXXIV with the Titans. When he played in Tennessee, he was the highest paid receiver in football. The Steelers originally selected him in the fourth round of the 1991 NFL Draft. Not recruited by major schools, Thigpen would play college football and basketball for Winston-Salem State University. A native of Tarboro, North Carolina, he is now a stay at home dad in Charlotte.
