Will Muschamp

Will Muschamp is one of the most respected defensive minds in college footballand is currently defensive coordinator at Texas. He most recently served as the head coach at the University of South Carolina. Muschamp previously spent a season as the defensive coordinator at Auburn following a four-year stint as the head coach at Florida. His coaching record for the Gators was 28-21, highlighted by an 11-2 2012 season that ended with a trip to the Sugar Bowl. Muschamp was always an ace recruiter, drawing top ten classes to Florida each season. Prior to his time at UF, he was defensive coordinator and head coach in waiting at Texas under Mack Brown. Muschamp also had a prior stint as the DC at Auburn and was one of Nick Saban’s top assistants at LSU and the Miami Dolphins. His 2002 Tigers defense was tops in the nation and the team won the BCS title. Muschamp’s coaching career started with a graduate assistant position at Auburn and he also spent a season each at West Georgia, Eastern Kentucky, and Valdosta State building his resume. He was a walk-on safety at Georgia who would eventually be named defensive team captain in his senior season. Muschamp’s spent time in Rome, Georgia and Gainesville, Florida in his youth.
