About Will MacKenzie
Will MacKenzie is a golfer who has won two events on the PGA Tour. MacKenzie triumphed in 2006 at the Reno-Tahoe Open and in 2008 at the Viking Classic. His route to professional golf was unconventional. MacKenzie dropped out of college after one semester and ended up working a variety of odd jobs. He spent time living in his van and living in the wild. At one point, he was certified as a class V kayaker and worked as a rafting guide in Montana, West Virginia, and North Carolina. Watching Payne Stewart win the 1999 U.S. Open reinvigorated his love for golf. After playing on smaller tours, MacKenzie became a PGA Tour rookie in 2005. He had to win his way back onto the Tour in 2013 by strong play on the Web.com Tour. He had two top five finishes on the PGA Tour in 2014. Originally from Greenville, North Carolina, MacKenzie now lives in Jupiter, Florida with his two sons, Maverick and Nash.
