About Will Allen
Will Allen is an NFL safety who made the Pro Bowl for three consecutive seasons from 2008-2010. Allen made his mark as a special teams ace for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was the Bucs’ special teams captain in 2008. Currently with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Allen has also seen time with the Dallas Cowboys. The Bucs selected him out of Ohio State in the fourth round of the 2004 NFL Draft. In 2003, Allen was a consensus All-American and first-team All-Big Ten pick for the Buckeyes. He is also well known for making the tackle on Willis McGahee that knocked him out of the 2002 BCS National Championship, a game ultimately won by Ohio State. Off the field is where Allen perhaps shines even more. He took part in the NFL’s Business Management and Entrepreneurial program at Harvard and Northwestern. The Will Allen Foundation was founded in 2008 and works with youth in Tampa, Pittsburgh, and Allen’s hometown of Dayton, Ohio. Allen also started The Big Play, a program that gives suits to needy young men in Columbus, Ohio.
