About Vontaze Burfict
Vontaze Burfict is a retired linebacker who played the majority of his career with the Cincinnati Bengals. Burfict was named to the Pro Bowl in 2013. His All-Pro second season saw him lead the league in tackles with 171 for a playoff-bound Bengals squad. No Bengals linebacker had made the Pro Bowl since 1974. Burfict led the team in tackles during his rookie campaign as well, which was an unexpected feat. He originally had to make the team in camp as an undrafted player. Burfict played three seasons at Arizona State and was the Pac-10 Defensive Freshman of the Year. He was an All-American selection by the Sporting News in his sophomore year. In his final season, inconsistencies on and off the field plummeted his draft stock. He also overcame a rough upbringing in South Los Angeles.
