About Usama Young
Usama Young played defensive back for Kent State University where he was one of the top players at his position in school history. A three-year starter, Young compiled 198 career tackles with 9 interceptions and 21 pass defenses. The Second-Team All-MAC player was then drafted in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft by the New Orleans Saints where he made immediate contributions to the Saints secondary. Although only making a handful of starts, Young played in every game with the Saints, including the 2009 season where the Saints won the Super Bowl. Following the 2010 season, Young signed with the Cleveland Browns where in 2012 he started 11 games and compiled 53 tackles with 3 interceptions. Since then, he has signed with the Oakland Raiders where he has settled in as a rotational safety.
