Travelle Wharton

Travelle Wharton is a former player in the National Football League. He began his career in high school where he earned all-area and all-state recognition as a senior. Travelle then began his college career at the University of South Carolina where he started in 45 of the 47 games he played in. In a span of 45 games Wharton did not allow a single sack beginning in just his 3rd college game. In his senior season he earned second-team All-Southeastern Conference honors and was chosen to play in the senior bowl. Wharton then made the transition to the NFL after becoming the 94th overall selection in the 2004 NFL Draft. While he suffered several career threatening injuries in his playing days, he still managed to appear in 115 games, in which he was a starter 111 times. In his final season of 2013 Travelle helped lead the Panthers to a playoff appearance before retiring the next season.
