Tommy West

Prior to becoming a coach for the first time in 1979, Tommy West began to play football competitively in high school at Gainesville High School in Georgia where he was a letterman in football as well as basketball and baseball. He also became an All-American selection before he moved on to college at the University of Tennessee where he helped in guiding his team to victory playing as a tight end. Following his playing time in college West decided to become a coach, and in 1979 he got his first position with Ole Miss as the running backs coach. He has gone on to coach at nine other schools including Clemson, South Carolina, and his alma mater of Tennessee, including stents as head coach at Chattanooga, Clemson, and Memphis. In his head coaching career he led his teams to 84 victories and 3 bowl wins. Tommy now serves as the defensive line coach at Middle Tennessee State University.
