About Tino Martinez
Tino Martinez played 16 seasons in the major leagues with the Seattle Mariners, New York Yankees, St. Louis Cardinals, and Tampa Bay Devil Rays before finishing up his career in Yankee pinstripes in 2005. During his time in the bigs he earned two All-Star selections at first base and helped the New York Yankees to four World Series Championships in 1996, 1998, 1999 and 2000. He also brought home a Silver Slugger Award in 1997. Over the course of his career he was one of the most consistent hitters in the league, posting a career batting average of .271 with 339 homeruns and 1,271 runs batted in. One of the shining accomplishments of his baseball career was when he helped Team USA to a Gold Medal at the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games. Since leaving the game as a player he has served as an assistant coach in the Yankees organization and also pursued a broadcasting career with the YES Network. In 2013 he was named the hitting coach for the Miami Marlins, but has since returned to his broadcasting career. To this day, he is considered one of the Yankee greats.
