Tim Lester

Tim Lester is the head football coach at his alma mater, Western Michigan University. Lester took over in 2017 and guided the Broncos to a 6-6 record in his first season. Prior to taking the job, Lester spent time as an assistant at Syracuse and Purdue. He received his first head coaching opportunity in 2004 on the Division II level at Saint Joseph's and was named Independent Football Alliance Coach of the Year. Lester spent five years as the head coach at Elmhurst and led them to the NCAA Division III Quarterfinal in 2012. It was the first NCAA Playoff appearance in school history and they won their first conference championship since 1980. Lester got his first Division 1 coaching opportunity in 2005 as the quarterbacks coach at Western Michigan. He began his coaching career on the high school level at his alma mater, Wheaton Warrenville South. Lester set 17 school records as the quarterback at Western Michigan. He spent time professionally playing in the Arena Football League before getting into coaching.
