About Ted Kwalick
Ted Kwalick is a former professional football tightend, playing in the NFL and the WFL. Afterbeing drafted by the San Francisco 49ers in the first round of the 1969 NFL draft out of PennState, Kwalick would go on to have an 18 year professional football career. His stint with the49ers lasted five years, where Kwalick was electedto the Pro Bowl in 1971, 1972, and 1973. Heis famous for being the first player to score a touchdown in the legendary Candle Stick Park in1971. After a brief run in the World Football League in which he played for the HonoluluHawaiians, Kwalick would return to the NFL in 1975to play for the Oakland Raiders beforeretiring in 1977. After his career was over, Kwalick was elected to the College Football Hall ofFame for setting career records for tight ends at Penn State in yards gained and touchdown.
