About Taquarius Wair
Taquarius Wair has an amazing story that led to him winning the Jimmy V Award for Perseverance at the 2020 ESPYs. Wair suffered serious burns on over half his body at the age of four when he as the victim of a house fire. His sister died as a result of the fire and he spent a month in a coma and was only given a 20% chance to live by doctors. Wair fought back though, and endured through several skin grafts and reconstructive surgeries throughout the rest of his life. He continued to persevere each time, often motivated by sports. Wair lived out his dreams when he played football at Minneapolis North High School and then went on to suit up at running back for Mesabi Range College.
