About Steve Young
College and Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young is a one-of-a-kind talent. A consensus first-team All-American and Davey O’Brien Award winner at Brigham Young University, Young played professionally for the Los Angeles Express in the USFL before joining the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1985. In 1986 Young headed to the west coast and became a legend, leading the San Francisco 49ers to three Super Bowl championships while earning two NFL MVP awards and seven Pro Bowl selections.
Young currently holds 14 NCAA records and 14 more NFL records. His unique ability to both throw and scramble paved the way for the modern-day dual-threat quarterback.In 1999 he was ranked No. 63 on The Sporting News list of the 100 Greatest Football Players and in 2005 he earned the ultimate honor when he was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Steve Young’s post-football career has been a busy one. He’s pursued a successful acting career, endorsed several companies like All-Sport, Visa and Gatorade and also served as an analyst on ESPN’s Monday Night Football.Young’s dedication to his philanthropic commitments is also second to none.Currently, he serves as a National Advisor to ASCEND: A Humanitarian Alliance and as the national spokesman for the Best Shot Foundation.
