Steve Timmons

Steve Timmons is known for representing the USA’s volleyball team at three consecutive Summer Olympics, beginning in 1984. He is honorably credited with earning a medal in each tournament. Born in Newport Beach, California in 1958 and standing at 6’5”, volleyball was a calling for Timmons. He played high school volleyball at Newport Harbor High School in his California hometown and went on to play at Orange Coast College and the University of Southern California. Representing himself as a competitor for the U.S. Olympic Team, he contributed to winning a gold medal in the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games, another gold medal in the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games, and a bronze medal in the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games. In addition to the Olympic Games, Timmons won a silver in the 1986 Moscow Goodwill Games and a gold in the 1986 Paris World Championships. After his volleyball years, Timmons co-founded and was president of Redsand, a company in which he then sold in 2004. He is now married to actress Debbe Dunning, known for her role as Heidi on Home Improvement, and has gone on to play club volleyball in Italy sporadically.
