Scott Erickson Biography

Scott Erickson pitched in the big leagues for 16 seasons from 1990 to 2006 with the Minnesota Twins, Baltimore Orioles, New York Mets, Texas Rangers, Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees. Erickson began his pro career in 1989 after having been selected in the MLB Draft four times after high school, the first time being after his senior year in high school and the other three following stellar college seasons at both San Jose City College and the University of Arizona. Erickson began his career with the Twins and made his major league debut in 1990 after just one season in the minors. In his second season in Minnesota he helped lead his team a World Series title after leading the American League in wins and earning his first All-Star selection. Over the next 15 years he won 142 games and struck out over 1,200 batters while also throwing a no-hitter in 1994. Erickson retired in 2006 and later became a pitching coach for the Cleveland Indians in 2012.
