Ryan Raburn

Ryan Raburn is a well-distinguished utility player in Major League Baseball, having been so since 2004. He proudly represents number 9 for the Cleveland Indians but may better be remembered for his history with the Detroit Tigers. Raburn was born in Tampa, Florida in 1981 and grew up loving the sport of baseball. He attended a preparatory school before being selected in the 1999 Major League Baseball Draft by his hometown Tampa Bay Rays. However, Raburn humbly chose to decline the offer and play for the University of Florida for a year, instead. He was then reselected in the 2001 MLB Draft by the Detroit Tigers and played a few years in the minors before working his way up and debuting for them in 2004. Raburn played for the Tigers for the entirety of the 2004 season and again from 2007 to 2012. He has since been signed to the Cleveland Indians since the 2013 season. Although he can be found in left field or at second base the majority of the time, Raburn is an extremely diverse player. He has made appearances as a third baseman, center fielder, right fielder, first baseman and pitcher throughout his professional career. Raburn is admired for being such a versatile and hard working contribution to the Major Leagues.
