About Ryan Meara
Ryan Meara is an American soccer player whom has been playing on elite teams throughout his entire life. Born in Crestwood, New York in 1990, Meara played goalkeeper on a prestigious New York City club team until Fordham Preparatory School and then Fordham University. As a goalkeeper, he set a school record at Fordham University with 31 shutouts. Meara was later designated as captain of the team and earned the conference Defensive Player of the Year award in 2011. Before debuting professional in 2012, he also played for the Long Island Rough Riders and Jersey Express. He then went on to be selected as the 31st overall pick by the New York Red Bulls in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft. Meara is currently playing for the New York City Football Club on loan from the New York Red Bulls and continues to serve as a talented goalkeeper with an impressive work ethic, often acknowledged and admired for the confidence he portrays on and off the field amidst any situation.
