Ryan Mathews

Ryan Mathews, standing 6’0” tall and weighing in at over 200 pounds, has established himself as a prestigious football running back over the years. Matthews was born in Riverside, California in 1987 to a teenage mother and vacant father. He used the odds against him to grow into a highly respectable human being, while he and his mother developed an unbreakable bond that ultimately gave Matthews the confidence to pursue his dreams. In high school, he excelled at both football and track before deciding to pursue a collegiate football career at California State University, Fresno in 2007. Becoming a firstteam All-WAC and second-team All-American by 2009, Matthews forwent his senior season to enter the NFL draft. In 2010, he was selected as the 12th overall pick by the San Diego Chargers and has been playing for them ever since. Matthews continues to serve as an honorable example of how you can overcome any and all obstacles in your life with determination, hard work and a positive outlook.
