About Ron Harper
Born and raised in Dayton, OH, Ron Harper stayed close to home and attended Miami (OH) University to play college basketball for the Redhawks. Harper was a four year starter for the Redhawks, leading the team in scoring in three of his four seasons. Harper graduated from Miami having won 2 MAC Championships and three trips to the NCAA Tournament and still holds school records for points scored (2,377), rebounds (1,119), career scoring avg. (19.8), and several others. Harper was then drafted by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 1986 NBA Draft to begin his 15 year NBA career. He went on to play for the Cavs, the Los Angeles Clippers, the Chicago Bulls, and then returned to Los Angeles to play for the Lakers to end his career. In his 15 seasons, he won 5 NBA Championships, 3 in a row with Michael Jordan and the Bulls and then 2 more with Kobe Bryant and the Lakers. Harper averaged almost 14 ppg. And just under 4 rpg. for his career which ended after the 2001 season.
