About Ron Cey
After two years at Washington State University, Ron Cey was drafted in the 1968 MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers. Cey joined the Dodgers infield at third base and was a part of the complete All-Star infield that stayed together for a MLB record 8 ½ years. Cey played 11 seasons with the Dodgers, appearing in 6 All Star games and winning the World Series and the World Series MVP in 1981. He was traded to the Chicago Cubs where he played for four seasons and played one final season with the Oakland As before retiring from baseball in 1987. In 17 seasons Cey played in over 2,000 games, hitting 316 home runs and batting with a career average .261. He stayed on as a part of the Dodgers organization after retirement and remains a fan favorite to this day for the Dodger faithful.
