About Rob Thomson
Rob Thompson is the manager of the Philadelphia Phillies. Thompson led the Phillies on an improbable run to the 2022 World Series after taking over on an interim basis during the season. He originally joined Philadelphia's big league staff as a bench coach in 2018. Thompson had previously served on Joe Girardi's staff with the New York Yankees from 2008-17, winning a World Series in 2009. He had spent a long time as a coach in the Yankees minor league system. Thompson got his coaching start with the Detroit Tigers organization after playing in for the franchise in the minors. He was drafted by the Tigers after setting the school batting average record at the University of Kansas. Thompson is originally from Canada and is a member of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame.
