About Renee Montgomery
Renee Montgomery is just one of the future leaders when it comes to making the sports world a more inclusive place. The former WNBA player actively spoke out against then-Atlanta Dream owner Kelly Loeffler's opposition to the league's social justice initiatives. When Loeffler was forced to sell the team, Montgomery joined the new ownership group as an investor. In addition to helping guide the Dream, she also currently broadcasts Atlanta Hawks games for Bally Sports Southeast. Montgomery has also worked with ESPN on coverage of the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament.
As a player, Montgomery had a 12-year career both in the WNBA and overseas. She won two WNBA titles as a member of the Minnesota Lynx. Montgomery was also the WNBA Sixth Woman of the Year and an All-Star with the Connecticut Sun early in her career. Prior to entering the pros, she played at powerhouse UConn, where she won an NCAA championship and won the Honda Sports Award in 2009.
